Two Radion XR30's would be a great fit for your 4x2x2' 120G aquarium.

How many units would cover a 180 Gal 72x24x25? Would 3 suffice, or would 4 give better coverage? What is the max depth penetration for useful light on these units? How high above the water line should they be mounted?

I have the same size tank and was curious how the spread would be with the center bracing on the tank? How high off the water should these be mounted?

The spread should be just fine as long as the light cluster(s) isn't directly over the center brace.

Ok, I am in the market for some new LED lighting for Christmas. I have been running some of the knock off "from china" fixtures for 3/4 year with great success. (they've actually been fantastic lights, just not adjustable, and would be moved to a frag grow out tank). I noticed the first poster has the same saze tank, and the answer was 2 Radions would work well, however, he did not mention what he grows.
I want adjustability, and the ability to ramp up for sunup/sunset. I have a 120g 4x2x2 aquarium. It is a mixed reef now, but I am getting pretty heavy with the sps, and it seems that this will be the direction the tank is going, much more sps, and less lps. I have a lot of rock, and the ability to mount frags high or low, at this time I mostly grow montipora as my sps.
The decision I have is between your radions, and AI sols. Obviously If I have to buy 4 AI sol blues, and only 2 radions, the radions are the better buy. It seems the radions outperform the sols on total light produced, but I have not recieved an answer from AI yet.
I also have 3 mp40s as well, so the fact that they will interface with the radion fixtures is an awesome benefit. Will two radions light my tank well enough for light demanding sps at say a reduced intensity running through the unit? I would prefer to have enough light running through the fixtures at 75-90% intensity (I hate running things at 100% if I can avoid it-I hope to have enough intensity at these levels, with enough intensity to ramp the lights higher as things grow in-I want room to grow as it were). I am already blown away by your pumps-one of the best products I've ever bought.
I think my overall plan for the tank is lots of sps, with a lot of chalice type lps, low, and a few of the larger lps like frog spawn and trumpet. It's hard to say as the tank is constantly evolving.
Will two Radions be enough?-
Yes, two Radion XR30w fixtures will work great!

38g 3'Lx1'Wx18"T, will one unit be enough or will there be too much shadowing on the ends. It has zos and plays only so I am not so worried about intensity.

It's possible that one Radion XR30w might work with the right aquascaping, but you will have a bit of shadowing on the sides with less light.

thanks for the answer.but unfortunely i just found out each one is almost 800.00 dollars.even for me who is really is in to this, and have several of your products( mp 40s mp 10s) i cant see myself spending 6400.00 on lights.especially since i already have mh and vho that will do. i was just looking to up grade from the tried and true and the hassel of every year bulbs but i can buy bulbs for the 16 times for that..no offence to u guys hopefully they will oneday be affordable ,,,,thanks for the reply

I would recommend (8) Radion XR30w's for your 102x36x30" aquarium, which will allow you to keep even the most light-demanding livestock as you please.

I plan on using TRUVU reef ready 55H 36x15x24 aquarium.
How much shadowing at the edges will there be in a 36" length tank? What is the maximum recommended distance above the water for the light fixture? For best results you would recommend 2 units for a 36” length tank? What would be the largest tank size you would recommend for one unit? What type of aquascaping would you recommend for 36” length tank with one unit? Very little out at the edges and concentrated in the center?
Thank you for any help

Andy,
the general rule of thumb for Radion fixtures is one unit for a 24x24x24 area.
Some people use more lights than this, while others push the envelope a bit with a larger tank. They place most of their aquascape in the 24x24x24 "Sweet spot" and have lower light corals out towards the edges.
Personally, I'd run two fixtures over the tank you posted. -

I would recommend six Radions for this setup.
Three across & two deep should provide more than enough coverage. -
